Oral Hygiene Services

Teeth Cleaning

Though regular flossing and brushing can get rid of plaque, once it solidifies, the material is too tough to be removed with floss or a toothbrush—that’s where your dental hygienist comes to the rescue.

During a professional cleaning, your hygienist first scales your teeth, then polishes them to remove minor stains and smooth the surface of your teeth so that plaque won’t adhere to them as easily.

THE GRAND MESA DENTAL HYGIENE DIFFERENCE:

We clean your teeth and keep you comfortable. Regular cleaning is typically painless and we make sure you’re comfortable during deep cleaning, too.

DID YOU KNOW?:

Having your teeth professionally cleaned, even just once, may reduce your risk of stroke and heart attack.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a mineral that occurs naturally in many foods and water. Minerals are lost from a tooth's enamel layer when bacteria and sugars in the mouth -- attack the enamel. This can lead to tooth decay.

Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay for people of any age, by making your teeth more resistant to bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It also reverses early decay.

It is important for children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years to have regular fluoride treatments to strengthen their developing teeth.

THE GRAND MESA DENTAL HYGIENE DIFFERENCE:

Fluoride treatments that you receive as part of your overall dental care contain a much higher level of fluoride than the amount found in toothpastes and mouth rinses.  These can be an important part of protecting your dental health.

Oral Evaluations

Just like a regular physical exam, a regular oral evaluation helps keep your entire body healthy and happy. It helps you to maximize good oral hygiene and minimize future dental problems. Regular evaluations also identify any existing dental issues and diseases early on, preventing bigger problems down the line.

An oral evaluation can help detect gum disease and oral cancer, and diagnose the need for fillings, root canals, orthodontic, and other treatments.

THE GRAND MESA DENTAL HYGIENE DIFFERENCE:

You will always receive a thorough professional evaluation, every time. We take special care to:

  • Keep you comfortable

You’ll be impressed with the quality of our services and the care you receive from our staff.

Preventive Care

The most important part of preventive dentistry is to brush teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste approved by the American Dental Association (ADA). Most people should replace their toothbrushes three to four times a year or as the bristles start to fray.

Daily flossing is also recommended. Flossing helps to clean out the tight spaces between the teeth.

THE GRAND MESA DENTAL HYGIENE DIFFERENCE:

Bi-annual dental cleanings and evaluations allow us to identify problems right away.  Our emphasis is to always provide quality preventive dental care for your family, but as important is our approach to equipping you with the knowledge of the habits that are necessary for good preventive dental health.
